Helping Your Children Develop Self Confidence

Did you know that most self confidence problems originate in childhood? For this reason, it is particularly important to pay attention to children’s self confidence - in other words, to help them develop self confidence. They will thank you for it later in life!

To develop self confidence, one factor is more important than all the others - unconditional love an approval. If you have that, little else matters - though of course, instilling a sense of self-discipline is also important. Love and approval are right at the center of the confidence issue, though. This is how we tell children that they are appreciated and that they are perfect in exactly the way that they are. If we delay giving approval, or if we appreciate our children for their potential rather than for what they are right at the present moment, we are setting the scene for serious self confidence issues down the road. Many a well meaning parent has fallen into this trap.

It is very difficult to help your children develop self confidence if you don’t ahve good self-confidence yourself - it’s sort of like the blind leading the blind. Ideally, if you yourself have issues with regard to self-confidence, you will try to work them out. You can do this with therapy, or by participating in a course, group or workshop, or just by thinking, reading and working through your issues on your own. We vary in our approach to issues like this. While therapy is generally a great idea, some of us really do better exploring problems on our own.

What happens if a parent has poor self confidence? The problem is that we tend to project our own self-image onto our children. Some people have a greater tendency than others to do this, but no-one is completely immune to it. Then, if you are projecting what you think of yourself onto your son or daughter, and you have poor self confidence, the message you send out will be a disapproving one. It’s hard to develp self confidence under those circumstances. Remember that you are you, and your child is your child - he or she has a separate life with its own unique set of challenges. Support your child in all of his or her endeavors - that’s what you’re there for. While gentle correction and an insistance on self-discipline is helpful, disapproval isn’t. Take a good look at your parenting, and do your best to help your child develop self-confidence.

Self Confidence - How Self Confidence Can Help You Achieve Your Dreams

If you are like most people there are things that you dream of doing but don’t because you doubt yourself and your abilities to reach those dreams. How many times have you started to achieve your goals in life but let your own thoughts of self doubt stop you before you ever even came close to finishing?

Self confidence will help you even when times get tough. As a matter of fact, without self confidence, when times get rough it is much easier for you to give up. However, if you continue to believe in yourself, even when it may seem that no one else does, you will find that you have the strength to do anything you want.

Self confidence will make others believe in your dreams and goals. This is important because you will never reach your dreams without the help of other people. Therefore you need others to believe not only in you but what you are doing. Self confidence will help you build a strong team of supporters around you.

Self confidence will help you press pass the points of fear that you will have. There will always be an element of fear when you are trying to reach your dreams in life. If there was no fear everyone would reach their dreams in life. Fear will paralyze you if you let it. Self confidence is the thing that will give you the ability to stare fear in the face and overcome it. As soon as you begin to doubt yourself you will begin to let fear overtake every area of your mind and you will soon find that you no longer have the confidence that is needed to achieve your dreams.

Change Self Hypnosis Can Be A Positive Influence

Making subtle and even major changes in one’s life can be a difficult road to go down. Negative thoughts, societal pressures, stress and self-doubt can all combine to make effecting even the smallest change in one’s outlook or behavior difficult. This is where change self hypnosis can be extremely beneficial. By working with positive reinforcements, change self hypnosis utilizes one of the most powerful tools a person has at their disposal – the mind.

Change self hypnosis is nothing more than a technique that helps a person cut through their own layers of stress, burden and self-doubt to plant the seeds for positive reframing of the thought process. This reframing can result in a person “seeing” themselves succeed at reaching a goal. Once it’s “seen,” it can generally be done. Change self hypnosis can take a little time to master, but the fact is it can have some very powerful and positive results.

Anyone looking to learn the ins and outs of change self hypnosis will find there are a number of different avenues that can be taken. There are licensed, certified therapists that can help teach people change self hypnosis. If this isn’t feasible, for whatever reason, very effective change self hypnosis techniques can be found in books, magazines and even online. It doesn’t necessarily cost a dime to learn the basics about change self hypnosis.

The process of actually putting change self hypnosis into play will begin with learning how to clear the mind and relax the body. A typical session of change self hypnosis might begin with trying to relax and clear all thoughts. As the mind becomes more free, the body is then relaxed one part at a time. Change self hypnosis will then move on to address the issues a person wants to implant into their mind. Whether the focus of change self hypnosis is to break a habit or gain a more positive outlook, it will generally be important to use only positive language when making suggestions to oneself.

Change self hypnosis works very much in the same manner as a therapist led session. The idea is to cut through to the self conscious and help a person learn they can do things. When the mind is convinced something is true, there are very few forces greater in the universe.

Mastering change self hypnosis will likely take some time. The mere act of learning how to relax and breath in a meditative sort of way can be difficult for some to master. With practice, however, change self hypnosis can be an incredibly beneficial tool for anyone to use. Whether it’s mean to simply provide stress reduction or to help a person achieve a goal, change self hypnosis can and does work.

What’s The Best Gift You Can Give Your Soulmate?

One of the best gifts that you can give your soul mate is a healthy self esteem. When you are truly comfortable in your own skin and know who you are and where you are going you will really have something to offer someone else. No one wants to end up with a ‘leech’, a person who can’t really function without constant affirmation to build up their self esteem.

Once upon a time I believed that this topic was only relevant to females but the more life I live the more I discover that males have the same self esteem issues but deal with them in a different way!

In Nathaniel Brandon’s description of self esteem he states “self-esteem as a basic human need, i.e., ‘…it makes an essential contribution to the life process’, “…is indispensable to normal and healthy self-development, and has a value for survival.” Maslow described two kinds of self esteem needs, the “need for respect from others and the need for self-respect.” Without self esteem the individual feels discouraged weak and inferior. Do you have a healthy self esteem? Do you draw your self esteem from an external sources that may cause you to crumble when they do? Where do you draw your self worth from?

This idea of self esteem ties in with our basic core need for acceptance and value. We desire to be accepted by others and to be valued for what we do and who we are. It is very dangerous when a person’s self esteem primarily comes from what they do and from what people think of them. When we compare ourselves to the glam models we see in magazines or to the sporting heroes on our television sets we will never measure up to what the world seems to value and accept as popular.

Self esteem is the opinion you have of yourself.

In order to become comfortable in your own skin you need to build your self esteem and understand that you are valuable just as you are. Building self esteem is a step towards happiness in life. The fact that we are here on earth and have been created to live a purposeful life is of value. We can’t always rely on others to validate us. Sometimes we need to take responsibility for boosting our own self confidence. Self esteem increases your confidence which in turn boosts your self respect. When we respect ourselves we can respect others and improve our soulmate relationships.

Low self esteem causes depression, unhappiness, insecurity and poor confidence which all have a negative effect on our soulmate relationships. When we listen to negative ‘self talk’ it impacts on our ability to focus on others in life and causes us to be consumed with ourselves. Choose to focus on the successes in our lives and learn from the failure, don’t befriend it and use it as an excuse to do nothing.

Being comfortable in your own skin and having a healthy self esteem is one of the greatest gifts you can give your soul mate. If you are confident and comfortable with who you are you will attract that into your life.

Confidence - Self Esteem Or Determination?

Where does confidence come from? How can we have confidence? Interesting questions, no?Well, we all know, or we should know, that confidence comes from within. But a lot of people think that self-esteem is where we find our confidence. I disagree. I am not a professor, nor a doctor, or even a genius, nor do I make such claims. But, I am an observer, and in my observations, I have come to see that often confidence comes from determination.Self-esteem can often be the key, yes, but not always so. Self-esteem is more of a personality characteristic. Some have it, some need to learn it. We all can, but it is harder for some than it may be for others. We can have self-esteem in all areas, in all we do, all we are, as a person, we know we are good, we believe in ourselves, and we are confident that all will be well, as we are competent, and we know it, or we can have self-esteem regarding what we have done, affecting what we do. Personally, I have low self-esteem, but there are areas I excel in, and in those things, I have gained self-esteem. Or, moreover, confidence.Confidence, for most, comes from a drive. Something that cannot go wrong, something we have to prove, and we are so determined, that we cannot fail. Confidence is often what really makes us tick, whether said subject be positive or negative. Some find determination through something they must overcome, something negative, or it can come through something we want so bad, we will stop at nothing to get it.So how do we get confidence, if we have low to no self-esteem? Find out what drives you. Pick something at random if you must. What gets on your nerves, what must you overcome? It can be internal or external. What pushes you, what do you want more than anything in your life? If only we can find one feasible thing in our lives that we can overcome or obtain, we will find a new level of confidence through that determination.
